Why is my profile here? I never signed up.+

Your name showed up in a public meet result — a heat sheet, finish-line photo program, or timing-company feed (AccuRace, AthleticLive, MileSplit, PrimeTime). Wisconsin high-school meet results are public the same way a printed meet program is public, and WI Athlete aggregates them in one place so you have a free statewide profile.

You don’t need to do anything to keep it — it’s free forever. If you want more control (claiming, hiding from recruiters, fixing typos), keep reading.

How do I claim my profile?+

Athletes 13+ can claim their own profile by signing in with a verified email and answering a quick identity-check question (school + grad year + one previous result). Under 13, a parent needs to claim on your behalf. Find your profile page first, then look for the “This is me” link near the top. Trouble? Email us with your name, school, and grad year — we’ll get you in.

Can I hide my results from college recruiters?+

Yes. Once your profile is claimed (or your parent has claimed on your behalf), open the profile-edit page and flip the “Recruiter visibility” toggle to Opted out. From that moment your profile is hidden server-side from every recruiter search, watchlist, and discovery feed.

Your public meet-results page still works (that’s FERPA directory information — same as a printed meet program), but recruiters won’t see you in search.

My name is misspelled. Can you fix it?+

Yes. We pull names verbatim from the host school’s meet program. If a meet typed your name wrong (it happens), email hello@wiathlete.com with the correct spelling and your school. We fix it within a business day and prevent future typos by adding an alias on our side.

My results are missing.+

We auto-import from AccuRace, AthleticLive, MileSplit, and PrimeTime as soon as the meet posts. If a meet used a different timing company (or hand-timed it with no PDF), we miss it. Your coach can upload a HyTek export or a meet-program PDF and we’ll get the missing results live within a day. If your coach hasn’t claimed your team yet, send them to /admin/onboard.

What does the rank badge mean?+

It’s your statewide ranking by event for the current season. Numbers show your absolute position (e.g. “3rd in Boys 400m”). Updates within minutes of every meet import.

Why is my time wrong / why does the meet show a slow time?+

Two common causes. First, hand-timed marks are tagged “HT” but still display; they read about a third of a second slower than FAT. Second, wind-aided sprints get a “w” tag and won’t count for rankings. If neither of those explains it, email us with the meet name and we’ll investigate the source PDF.

Can I add a profile photo?+

Not yet. We’re intentionally going slow on photos to keep the COPPA + FERPA boundary clean. Coming once the identity-verification layer for athletes is shipped (estimated late 2026). For now we render a generated monogram avatar in your school colors.

How does the weekly recap email work?+

Once you (or a parent) claim your profile and confirm an email address, you get a Sunday-night recap of the past week: any PRs, your current statewide and grade-level rank, where you sit on your team leaderboard, and the next meet you’re entered for. One-click unsubscribe at the bottom of every send.

I’m graduating — will my profile stay up?+

Yes. Your historical results stay published as a permanent record. If you go on to compete in college, we’ll link your prep results to your college identity once you tell us where you signed (no automated linking — we ask).

I’m on a co-op team (like Dodge Point). How does that work?+

Co-ops are first-class. You’ll see the co-op’s combined name (e.g. Dodge Point = Dodgeville + Mineral Point) on your profile and a small chip noting your home school. Your meet results count for the co-op’s team rankings.

How do I delete my profile entirely?+

Email [OPERATOR: privacy@wiathlete.com] from the email associated with your account (or a parent emails for under-18). We deactivate the claim and replace your name on historical results with an anonymous placeholder (“Athlete, [school], Grade [X]”) within 30 days. See the Privacy Policy for the full retention rules.

Didn’t find your answer? Email hello@wiathlete.com. We respond within one business day.
