Wisconsin's home for high school athletics.

Our mission

WI Athlete is a free, comprehensive home for Wisconsin high school athletics. We believe results, rankings, and records for every Wisconsin athlete should be open and free — not locked behind a paywall and not scattered across sources that disappear. As WisSports.net winds down and migrates to MaxPreps, we’re building the lasting, Wisconsin-native system of record in its place.

What we cover

We start with the sports where complete data matters most and is hardest to find for free:

  • Track & field — statewide rankings, meet results, athlete profiles, conference and sectional pages, the State Championship hub, and all-time records.
  • Cross country — results, rankings, and conference / sectional structure across the state.
  • Football and more — coming as we expand, with the same free, complete approach.

How we source and verify our data

Accuracy is the whole point of a system of record, so we take it seriously. We compile results directly from official meet and timing sources across Wisconsin — including the WIAA — and run every result through a documented data-integrity process:

  • We normalize school and athlete names so the same person and the same school resolve consistently across every source — including co-ops and athletes who compete in more than one sport.
  • We de-duplicate results (for example, collapsing preliminary and final rounds to a single best mark) so rankings reflect reality.
  • We sanity-check every mark against event- and gender-calibrated bounds, so a mistyped or mis-attributed result can’t corrupt a leaderboard.
  • An automated health board monitors the data continuously and flags anything that looks wrong for human review.

When we get something wrong, we want to fix it. Spotted an error in a result, ranking, or profile? Email us at hello@wiathlete.com and we’ll correct it.

Free, for Wisconsin
